Sundays @ 9:00am!

Each and every Sunday of the year, we gather to encourage one another and focus on all that God is doing in and through us.

Our desire is to love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength as we serve others in the building and caretaking of his Kingdom. We do so imperfectly, for sure, but our hope is to grow consistently over time in our faith, our understanding of the triune God, and our likeness to his son Jesus.

Weekly services run about an hour and are relatively traditional in nature:

  • Welcome & Call to Worship

  • The Singing of Hymns

  • A Time of Encouragement

  • Prayer for One Another

  • A Practical Biblical Message

  • Celebration of Communion (1st Sunday of Each Month)

You are more than welcome to join us! No specific dress code. No unrealistic expectations. Just real people gathering to focus on the priority of Christ.

(Note: Although we do not record our entire service, you can go to our YouTube Channel to view our most recent teaching content. Don’t forget to subscribe!)

Meet our Pastor…

We are pleased to introduce you to our pastor Ken Stewart!

Ken grew up in Central Illinois, never straying from his roots in and around the Greater Peoria Area. While at Illinois State he developed a deep, personal foundation in the faith that had been passed on to him by his family. After college, he spent 20+ years in the marketplace developing his business and interpersonal skills while volunteering heavily in the Church.

In 2008, as Ken was in the Elder development process for a large local church, God began to reveal a gap, an “emptiness” of vocational purpose. Little did he know, but a crossroads was on the horizon. Over the next couple years, signposts were evident, doors were opened, and Ken made a marketplace-to-ministry jump in 2010.

For the next 6 years, Ken was the Campus Pastor for an extension site of Richwoods Christian Church in East Peoria.

In late 2017, we at the First Congregational Church of South Pekin were in the midst of a search for a new pastor - someone to lead us through this next season of life as a church. Ken accepted the commission to be our pastor in December of that year.

He resides in Germantown Hills with his wife Beth, daughter Anna (also at Illinois State!), dog (Pepé), and cats (Oliver & Rusty).

We would love to hear from you!
